Dr. Blackbird is a licensed psychologist and certified school psychologist who earned his doctorate from the University of North Dakota in 1985. He completed his internship at the University of Kansas School of Medicine in Wichita, and came to Pennsylvania in 1985 when he accepted a position at Philhaven Hospital in Mt. Gretna, where he worked as a psychologist on the Child and Adolescent Unit. 

A founding member of our practice, Dr. Blackbird has been with Psychological Health Affiliates since the practice began in 1989.  He has over 25 years of inpatient and outpatient experience working with children, adolescents, and their families.  He has expertise in play therapy, marital and family therapy and child management training. He is respected for his work in the assessment of childhood disorders, including emotional and behavioral problems and learning disabilities. Special interests include ADHD, Tourettes Disorder, OCD and anxiety disorders in children and adults.

Tegan works extensively with issues pertaining to behavior management, academic difficulties, and family discord (including couples therapy and parenting skills training).  A native of Green Bay, WI, he is of course an avid Packer fan!
