FIND HELP

Finding help early for a child with Selective Mutism is very important.  Once you find out that your child has this condition, immediately start looking for help in your area and notify your childs school.

As a Member of our organization, you will receive a  informational packet to share with the school which will include a teacher and administrator letter, information on helping the child in the classroom, and a customized goal chart for the teacher to fill out weekly.

Anxiety does not go away without treatment but worsens over time without help.  The majority of adults with anxiety issues reported that their symptoms started in  early childhood.  Cognitive behavior therapy is a supported treatment for anxiety  disorders.  About 13 percent of youth aged children suffer from anxiety disorders, making it the most common mental disorder in children.

It is our goal to assist parents with receiving the proper resources and support.  You will need to get a Treating Professional, State Coordinator and a Support Group.

As a member of the Selective Mutism Network,  you will receive these resources.
