Shireen Sonefeldt
Dr. Shireen is a licensed clinical psychologist (PSY25267) who has provided therapeutic interventions and psychological assessment for more than 10 years. She specializes in therapeutic interventions for preschool and elementary school-aged children, including child, parent-child, and family therapy; social skills and self-regulation groups; and psychological assessment. Dr. Shireen is also a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). She provides school-based consultation and Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). She has an endless amount of compassion and enthusiasm for improving the lives of young children and their families.
Dr. Shireen provides a unique perspective because of her specialization in relational and behavioral treatment approaches. Starting with a supportive relationship with parents, Dr. Shireen creates an individualized treatment to fit the unique needs and circumstances of each family. Her approach to Selective Mutism focuses on developing a nurturing relationship with each child and family with an emphasis on evidence-based cognitive and behavioral strategies. Treatment can include a combination of the following: Evaluation, family therapy, parent consultation, parent-child therapy, school consultation, and/or social skills groups.
