Laura L.C Johnson
Laura L.C. Johnson, MBA, MA, LMFT is cognitive behavioral therapist with Anxiety Counseling Solutions in San Jose. Lauras focus areas include generalized anxiety, social anxiety, selective mutism, panic, phobias, OCD and related disorders. She has experience treating children with Selective Mutism using a team approach including the child, parents, school and others involved.
Laura provides practical, goal-oriented therapy to help children, teenagers, parents and adults make positive changes in their lives. She has a masters degree in Counseling Psychology from Santa Clara University and is a licensed marriage and family therapist in California. Laura keeps up-to-date on the scientific research on what works for the various types of anxiety disorders she treats while integrating evidence-based principles with the individual needs of the client. To provide her clients with compassionate and professional care, Laura attends many conferences every year, participates in a weekly CBT consultation group at Stanford University, and is part of the year long CBT Extramural Program at the prestigious Beck Institute in Philadelphia.
Laura has a special interest in Selective Mutism because she suffered with it as a child, teenager and young adult. On her own, she slowly learned skills to recover and had a successful career in business before becoming a therapist. She has a passion for helping children and teenagers with Selective Mutism so they can fully engage in life and not suffer alone and undiagnosed for as long as she did.
Lauras therapy office is located on the border of San Jose and Saratoga and a short drive from Los Gatos, Campbell, Cupertino, Sunnyvale, Los Altos, Mountain View and Santa Clara.
