Carmen Lynas

Carmen M. T. Lynas, Ph.D. received her Masters and Doctorate degrees from Palo Alto University in California in 2006. She completed her internship at Northwestern University Medical School, and furthered her training as a post-doctoral fellow at Shared Vision Psychological Services, in both the pediatric and adult psychology departments.

In 2009, Lynas began her private practice to focus solely on treatment of selective mutism and social anxiety.

Lynass mission is to increase awareness, increase availability of effective treatment, train teachers/school personnel, and decrease the number of children and their families who suffer for longer than they should. In 2012, her private practice merged into Advanced Therapeutic Solutions (ATS), dedicated to innovative treatment for children and families.

Lynas became the first in the nation to replicate Steven Kurtzs Brave Buddies SM program, making this intensive evidence-base d treatment program available in the Chicago area for the first time. Lynas serves as the Director of the Selective Mutism Program at ATS, where she provides outpatient treatment, in-service trainings and outreach to schools, and professional consultation for children with SM.
